Overview
On the border of Sikkim and Nepal, Kanchenjunga is the world’s third highest mountain, and this exciting trekking itinerary takes you within a stone’s throw of its gigantic bulk. Ascending through beautiful landscapes of grassy meadows, rhododendron forests of and rushing streams, we’ll reach the breathtaking heights of this little-visited part of the eastern Himalayas. You’ll also have the chance to explore the fascinating centres of Gangtok and Darjeeling and the local Buddhist culture.

Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi, the national capital of India, the city which is as historic as modern. After clearing immigration and customs formalities; proceed towards the arrival hall, where you will be greeted by our office representative. He will assist you to the vehicle and will take you to the Delhi Hotel. There are no activities planned for the first day, so simply relax at the Hotel and recover your energy levels or depending upon your flight schedules we can plan some. Stay Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 - Morning transfer to domestic airport to board your flight for Bagdogra. Upon arrival you will be received by airport representative who will provide you transfer to Gangtok. Evening free time to enjoy local atmosphere and appreciate nature around us. Stay Overnight in Gangtok (125 kms / 3-4 hrs)

Day 3 - After breakfast leave for sightseeing of Gangtok visiting Phodang and Labrang monasteries. Afternoon visit to Institute of Tibetology and a Tibetan handicrafts centre. Stay Overnight in Gangtok

Day 4 - Morning a short drive to Rumtek monastery visit this beautiful monastery before you continue your journey to Yuksom. Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to your hotel for overnight stay. Evening optional walk up to Dubdi Monastery if time allows. (123 kms / 6-7 hrs)

Day 5 - This morning after breakfast start your trek through forests and rivers to Bakhim (2,790m) and lunch continue walk further another 3km through the forest of magnolia and rhododendron to reach the fairly new Tibetan village of Tsokha. Stay Overnight in camp. (Walking 5-6 hrs)

Day 6 - Today after breakfast trek passes through the village of Tshoka and later ascending trek to Phedang (3650m). A steep climb from here brings you out of the forest from where we can enjoy views of peaks of Kanchenjunga range. Walk to Dzongri for overnight stay in camp. (Walking 5-6 hrs)

Day 7 - Full day free for rest or exploration to climb Dzongri top which provides you the views of all nearby peaks of Kabru (7412 m), Rating, Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Koktang and Pandim (6691 m). Overnight stay in Camp.

Day 8 - Today morning after breakfast climb the ridge initially and pass herds of yak amongst the scrub, juniper and other plantation. Later the trail descent via Prek Chu into the mixed forest leads us to the next camp at Thangsing. Overnight stay in Camp

Day 9 - This morning the trail goes downhill to the next campsite through forests and camp before Samiti Lake at Lamuney as camping is not permitted closer to lake. During trekking you can enjoy the views of Thangshing , Khang and Pandim in addition to Kanchenjunga and Goechla peaks which make our day great. Overnight night stay in camp. (Walking 4-5 hrs)

Day 10 - Today after breakfast the trek goes steeply up to Goecha La Pass (4,940m) followed by a gradual descent to the next campsite at Thangshing where we stay for overnight. (Walking 8-10 hrs)

Day 11 - Today the trek descending through the valley until we take a direct route, missing out Dzongri by following a lower trail through dense rhododendron forest to reach Tsokha after a long trek. Overnight stay in Camp. ( Walking 7-8 hrs)

Day 12 - Today we trek back towards Yuksom, via Rathong Valley and reach to your last camp site in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Camp. ( Walking 5-6 hrs)

Day 13 - This morning say good bye to your trekking team after breakfast and board your vehicle for transfer to Darjeeling. Arrive in the afternoon and check in hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore mall road and local enjoy local atmosphere as well. Or optional sightseeing visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Self Help Centre and some local monasteries if time allows. Overnight stay in hotel.(Transfer 5-6 hrs)

Day 14 - Morning transfer to Bagdogra airport about 2 ½ hrs. via Ghoom Monastery to catch flight back for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi transfer to hotel and evening free time. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 15 - Departure transfer to Delhi international airport for your onward destinations. .
