Darjeeling Singalila Trek
Overview
The eastern end of the great Himalayan chain, and its lush foothills, is one of the least visited parts of this magnificent mountain range. After two nights in the grand old hill station of Darjeeling, we embark on this classic Himalayan trek which follows the Singalila Ridge with truly stupendous views of Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the world’s third highest mountain. Along the way you'll have the chance to experience the culture and everyday life of the local people.

Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi, the national capital of India, the city which is as historic as modern. After clearing immigration and customs formalities; proceed towards the arrival hall, where you will be greeted by our office representative. He will assist you to the vehicle and will take you to the Delhi Hotel. There are no activities planned for the first day, so simply relax at the Hotel and recover your energy levels or depending upon your flight schedules we can plan some. Stay Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 - Morning breakfast and transfer to Delhi domestic airport to board flight for Bagdogra. On arrival meet our rep and transfer to Darjeeling Hill station. Drive through the picturesque hills and tea estates all the way up to Darjeeling. Stay Overnight in Darjeeling. (90 Kms /2 ½ - 3 hrs)

Day 3 - Today very early morning we leave hotel and drive to Tiger hill about 15 kms located at the altitude of 2590 meters. Tiger hill is the most top sunrise pot where you can see the peaks of Kanchenjunga. Return to Darjeeling before visiting famous Ghoom Monastery. Afternoon visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) and Darjeeling Zoo. Evening is free to enjoy Mall road or Shopping. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 4 - This morning after breakfast we drive to Dhotrey a picturesque village on the road head from where we start our trek to Tonglu, a tiny village that overlooks the Singalila Ridge and the Kanchejunga. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 3-4 hrs)

Day 5 - Today we have an easy and relatively short trek from Tonglu to Gairibas (2538m) the second part is a little harder as it is a steep ascent to Kalipokhri. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 5-6 hrs)

Day 6 - This morning the uphill trail will take us to the Singalila Ridge before reaching Bikhebhajyang. From here the trail climbs steadily to Sandakhphu the highest point of the trek that provides amazing views of some of the great peaks. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 3-4 hrs)

Day 7 - Today we have a short day trek on this most spectacular section of the Singalila Ridge the border between Nepal and India. We walk alternatively between the two countries for a long distance before we reach our accommodation. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 3-4 hrs)

Day 8 - Today after breakfast we trek to the end of the ridge to Phalut then descend to Samaden through forests of oak, confers, pine and rhododendrons. While walking we enjoy great views of the Kanchenjunga and can see the Sikkim border as well. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 7-8 hrs)

Day 9 - Today is the last day of our trek. The trail winds through some of the small settlements of Rais, Sherpas and Tamangs. Mostly downhill, the trek ends in a larger village of Rimbik. Overnight stay in Hut. (Walking 5-6 hrs)

Day 10 - In the morning we say goo bye to our trek staff and depart for the drive to Kalimpong. We leave Sikkim at Rangpo and drive through the wild Teesta Valley. Arrive in the early afternoon check in hotel. Afternoon visit Kalimpong sightseeing visiting few famous Gompas and evening enjoy local crowded market atmosphere. Overnight stay in Hotel. (Transfer 90 kms / 3 ½ to 4 hrs)

Day 11 - This morning after breakfast drive to Gangtok the capital city of Sikkim enroute side trip about 25 kms to Rumtek monastery before returning to city hotel. Evening free time to explore Gangtok city market. Overnight stay in Hotel. (Transfer 80 kms / 3 hrs)

Day 12 - Morning at leisure and after breakfast full day sightseeing of Gangtok city visiting Enchey Monastery, Namgyal Institute and Handloom and handicraft centre. Evening free to visit MG Marg market.

Day 13 - Morning transfer to Bagdogra airport about (4 hrs / 125 kms ) to board your flight for Delhi. Upon arrival we are transferred to hotel. Evening is free to explore Delhi. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 14 - Today morning after breakfast the tour concludes or shall be provided departure transfers to international airport which depends on your flight schedule for onward destinations
